Insight Chicago Meditation Community is partnering with the Rebuild Foundation to host Southside Meditation Sangha the first and third Monday of each month from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The meeting location is the Dorchester Art + Housing Collaborative at 1456 E 70th Street in Chicago.

Meditation practice includes 30 minutes of silent meditation, a dharma talk, a mindfulness activity and a discussion. Instructions in insight meditation will be provided. The group will support all those in attendance to build and nurture their meditation practice.

Insight meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind.

Chairs and yoga mats are available. If you have a meditation cushion, or zafu, please bring it.

There is no fee to attend and no registration is necessary. Dana, or generosity, is encouraged to help with the cost of dharma teaching.

All are welcome ~ No meditation experience necessary

We welcome you - whether you’re new to meditation, an experienced practitioner, or anywhere in between. We seek to promote the inclusion and participation of people of diverse identities, including those of all races, ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities, classes, religions, political views, abilities, and ages, that all may feel welcome, safe and respected within this community.

Southside Meditation Sangha meets the first and third Monday of each month from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
