Community Service Event - Chicago River Day

  • Bunker Hill North Flatwoods (map)

Come join sangha friends for a morning of mindful service as we clean up our river!

Every year since 1992, Friends of the Chicago River has partnered with communities to host River Day, their largest volunteer day of the year. Volunteers go to site locations along the 156-mile Chicago-Calumet River system and improve the river and public spaces by cleaning harmful litter, mulching trails, and removing invasive plants.

ICMC will organize a group at Bunker Hill North Flatwoods in Chicago to participate in Chicago River Day. Come and enjoy the friendship of community while caring for the environment and contributing to the wider community.

Spaces are filling up quickly! Sign up directly with Friends of the Chicago River, here. The exact meeting place will be provided once you sign up. Then, please email us or add your information below, so we can be in touch to let you know where ICMC folks will meet. We will find a place to grab a bite to eat and chat afterwards.
