Northside Meditation Sangha meets every Wednesday from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at Dragon's Life Systems Building, 5115 North Ravenswood Avenue one block south of Foster. Street parking is available. For cyclists, two bike racks are located about 50 feet from the corner on the street just north of Dragon’s Life.
We meet on the 2nd floor, on your left from the top of the stairs. There are chairs and a few cushions on hand, but if you have a meditation cushion or bench, please bring it with you (floors are carpeted).
Practice includes silent or guided meditation, Dharma talk or activity, and discussion. We are a peer-led sitting group. Many members of the group volunteer to lead our meetings, providing a variety of topics and talks in the Theravada tradition. All who practice with us are welcome to lead a session when they feel ready. There is no cost to attend, but donations are accepted to help with rent and other operating expenses. But please be assured that no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
We welcome you - whether you’re new to meditation, an experienced practitioner, or anywhere in between. We seek to promote the inclusion and participation of people of diverse identities, including those of all races, ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities, classes, religions, political views, abilities, and ages, that all may feel welcome, safe and respected within this community.
